Rashleigh Pottery small, tin-glazed jug
A very attractive, small jug made by Rashleigh Pottery, Charlestown, near St Austell, Cornwall. The stoneware body has a generous pouring lip and applied handle which has the pottery maker's mark at the base. Decorated with hand-painted stylised flower in brown, with leaves, bands and rim in blue grey, on the very pale grey tin-glaze background.
It is thought that Rashleigh Pottery was running during the 1970s in Charlestown, near St Austell, Cornwall, by potters Gill Hingston with David Carew, although little more is known about them.
