Vintage Cornish pottery storage jars
These lovely lidded jars were made during the 1970s and 1980s, in Cornwall, England. They are glazed in a very tactile, smooth, matt, speckled fawn, with the name of the suggested contents of the jar in a raised, oval on the front. The lids all have a recess for the handle of a spoon or fork to be kept in the jar to serve the contents. Jars for many different condiments and ingredients were made, but our current collection includes, Honey, Pickles, and Apple Sauce. All the jars are in lovely condition, with a tiny flaw in the lid of the Honey jar.
The moulds for these jars were created by potter, Louis Hudson, but were also used by Tremar and Presingoll Potteries in Cornwall. These jars are unmarked, so could be from any of these potteries.
Each jar:
- Height approx. 10.5cm including lid
- Diameter approx. 9cm
