Godshill Pottery small, classical jug
A very attractive, hand-decorated small stoneware jug, with a classical ewer-shaped body, and perfectly proportioned pouring lip and loop handle. It is glazed in a honey brown colour with darker brown repeating brush marks between bands, and detail on the handle. It is inscribed Godshill on the unglazed base.
Godshill Pottery, New Forest, Hampshire (1960-2023), was run by Chris P Charman (1933-2023) with his wife Kate, who was an artist. Sadly, both died in early 2023.
