This striking yellow and black mug bears a stamped marked "Italy" and shares similarities with Bitossi Ceramiche which employed Ettore Sottsass to produce new designs from 1959. It has a sculptural quality which reflects new experimental techniques being deployed in the Italian ceramics industry in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.
