A small, brown earthenware jug with a wide neck and applied handle. The upper exterior is a beautiful, jade green slip overglaze, decorated with a band of vertical lines scored through to reveal the deep brown underneath; while the lower exterior and interior are glazed in a glossy, deep, rich, brown. The maker 'John McLellan' is inscribed on the unglazed base; this is possibly from during his time running Tewkesbury Pottery, c. 1959-1970.
