Hand-painted jug, attributed to Sanguino Pottery

Hand-painted jug, attributed to Sanguino Pottery

£28.50Price

This hand-painted water or sangria jug, decorated with flowers and a matt glazed finish, was probably produced by the Sanguino Pottery, Toledo, Spain in the 1970s.

  • Pablo Sanguino signed some of the pieces himself, while this jug, although sharing many of the decorative forms of the earthenwares produced by the pottery, has no clearly identifying mark.  The hand-painted stylised flowers and coloured bands are typical of the decoration used in this period by the pottery.

    • Height approx. 20cm
