A pair of antique Victorian Villeroy & Boch Majolica medallion plates in turquoise blue and olive green glaze. The central relief medallion shows a profile portrait of a woman in a late nineteenth century bonnet and dress, while the rest of the plates are covered in ornate, raised floral and scrollwork motifs.
The underside of each plate has an impressed mould number, 682, and the design is part of a cameo plate series, produced in a range of colourways.
Produced by the Villeroy & Boch factory in Schramberg, Germany, at the "Steingut und Majolikafabrik Uechtritz & Faist", a factory the company acquired in 1883.
