1950s 'Melody Cards' Christmas record greeting card - 'Christmastime!'

£14.00Price

An unused, vintage Christmas greeting card, produced by Melody Cards, London, in the 1950s. The front of the card has a thin plastic record embedded on the front, on top of the printed design. Over the years the card has become curved so the record may not be playable, but still makes a fun and quirky decoration or gift!

The front of the card reads: "Happy Christmas No. MX19 78r.p.m. Christmastime - Play this card on your Record Player using Light-weight Pick-up."

  • Inside the card reads: "When boy meets girl at Christmastime, with a saucy glance, They make a date, and celebrate at the Carnival Dance. Christmastime! Christmastime! E'vrybody loves Christmastime! With the latest tunes and gay balloons, it's a merry show! She's a modern miss, so he steals a kiss 'neath the mistletoe.

Greetings for Christmas with Good Health and Good Fortune in all you do throughout the Coming Year"

Melody Cards produced a range of birthday and Christmas greetings cards, as well as postcards, which had a flexi disk record attached to the front. They were in operation in the UK during the 1950s and were registered at 349 Royal College Street, London NW1.
