This hand decorated dish is inscribed Alvingham Pottery and dated 1971.  It is decorated with a hand-painted lavender/grey flower design on a glazed stoneware body and was probably decorated by Pru Green.

  • Pru Green trained at Sheffield College of Art before setting up the Alvingham Pottery in Lincolnshire in 1966.  She later set up the Gwili Pottery in Carmarthen, Wales before moving to Wivenhoe, Essex.  She continues to work as a ceramicist, though she retired from running her latest venture the Sentinel Gallery in 2018.
