Early 1950s Ercol Sideboard in Arts and Crafts style

Early 1950s Ercol Sideboard in Arts and Crafts style

£0.00Price

Oak sideboard made by Ercol, High Wycombe in the mid-20th century, with a pair of double cupboards with drawers over each plank-effect door, with overhanginging cornice top, with wrought iron strap hinges on the doors and turned wooden knobs. A paper Ercol 'Reliability Mark' label attached with corroded thick metal staples on reverse. We believe this piece was produced in the early 1950s, probably between 1951 and 1953, when the Reliability Mark label was in use. This piece has similarities to their 'Old Colonial' range from Ercol, particularly the drawerfronts and doorknobs.

  • There are a few pegs missing from the side panels, that cover the screwheads, these could be replaced with new dowel, but it does not detract from the overall appearance or appeal of the sideboard.

    • Height approx. 98cm
    • Width approx. 122cm
    • Depth approx. 51cm
