Langley (Denby) 'Chatsworth' blue and white coffee pot

Langley (Denby) 'Chatsworth' blue and white coffee pot

£32.00Price

Stoneware coffee pot  in blue and white glaze (blue on lower two thirds of coffee pot and with a band around lid handle) produced under the Denby 'Langley' brand in 'Chatsworth' design range.  A practical coffee pot that should hold the coffee's heat well while looking smart on a table.

  • Chatsworth was one of a series of similar designs that formed part of Langley's Natural Homemaker range, which began to be issued in the early 1960s and continued in production for a number of years.  Langley (owned by Denby from 1959) initially issued them with their own backstamp, but later with the Denby name on the reverse.  Other designs included Mayflower in brown, Sherwood in green and Canterbury in orange.  Chatsworth was one of the later designs first appearing in 1976 and remaining in production until the mid-1980s when a general move away from heavy oven-to-table stoneware in favour of fine china, led to the discontinuation of many of Denby's previous ranges.
