Framed drawing of a cockerel
Stylised cartoon drawing in pencil, pen and watercolour of a cockerel by Rosemarie de Goede (1928-2011), c1985-1999. Signed by the artist. Framed with a blue mount in a silver-coloured antique finish frame.
Diana Rosemarie de Goede (nee Spooner) lived and worked around Camberley, Surrey, where she produced artworks in a variety of styles over many years. Her works appear at auction from time to time, and other farm animal studies appear, as well as flower studies and landscapes.
In this drawing she emphasises the squatness of the bird, compacting its body into little more than a short transition between head and tail feathers.
